Summer holidays aside, December is a month prone to travel: it starts with a couple of national holidays and also includes Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations. If you have chosen the car to get around, you will have noticed that the price of gasoline and diesel has fallen: a trend that has become constant since November. Reason why we tell you which are the cheapest gas stations for this bridge.
At the end of November, the price of the Brent Barrel stood at 83 dollars. December started and that figure increased again before drawing a new drop: on December 6 it was $79.72. A behavior that has been extended to the reference index used in the United States: the price of West Texas stands at 74 dollars.
The gap is narrowed
Although the effect of these rises and falls is not immediate in the price shown by the service stations, it is possible to appreciate the first effects. The average price of 95 gasoline is 1,669 euros and the 98 stays at 1,831 euros; the liter of diesel costs 1,740 euros. It should be remembered that eight months ago, when the 20-cent bonus came into force, the average price of gasoline was 1,817 euros and that of diesel was 1,852 euros.
Both fuels thus move away from their all-time highs (2.1 euros) and reduce the wide gap that had opened between them. With these figures, filling a 40 liter tank with gasoline costs 66.76 euros and with diesel we go to 69.6 euros.
The cheapest gas stations
Taking a look at geoportal of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, it is easy to verify that choosing the gas station with the most reasonable prices can translate into differences that exceed 50 cents per litre. Not surprisingly, a study carried out by Plenoil reveals that six out of ten drivers choose ‘low cost’ service stations driven by the prices they offer. Taking this into account, we have reviewed the map of gas stations in Spain to find the five cheapest:
