Electric, premium and cheap SUV, the three arguments of the car for which you should wait until 2023

Posted on

Whether we like the idea more or less, reality is not going to be very different from an automobile market full of electric cars, and mainly SUVs. This is how Volvo lets us know with not only the recently introduced EX90, but also with the future EX30, an electric, premium and cheap SUV that is based on these three arguments. to make you wait for 2023 to buy it.

And although it is true that Volvo’s imminent electric access SUV has not yet been revealed, the firm took advantage of the presentation of the EX90 to show its figure in the shadows. Not only does this make us understand that the EX30 is on the verge of candy, but also the data already confirmed by the CEO of Volvo himself, Jim Rowan.

This will be the Volvo EX30, the electric SUV for which it is worth waiting for 2023

The first high point of the new Volvo EX30 will be its design. And it is that we are talking about that it will follow in the footsteps of its older brother, the EX90, or what is the same, it will present lines based on the new design language of the Swedish firm. We will find the same atmosphere in its cabin, where the latest Volvo technology will be represented by means of two screens.

But at the end of the day, design is a very subjective thing, and where we really find the charm in the EX30 is in its other two arguments. On the one hand, we are talking about Volvo’s objective is to offer a cheap electric car but without deviating from its premium positioning, which leads us to think of a price of between 30,000 and 40,000 euros.

But logically this range will not fall on a single variant, but the Volvo EX30 will be offered with different mechanics that will allow its customers to access more or less power and autonomy. To this we must add the aid offered by the MOVES III Plan which, if its criteria remain intact when the Swedish SUV goes on the market, we would be talking about discounts of up to 7,000 euros Being a 100% electric car.

And beyond the price we find that it is an electric car, with all the good and bad that this entails. On the one hand, we are looking at a Volvo EX30 that will bear the DGT ZERO label and all the advantages that this entails. But what will the EX30 be like as an electric car?

Since its approach is that of a B-SUV, a car with powers between 130 and 200 hp is expected, as well as different battery packs that will be responsible for bringing the maximum autonomy up to approximately 400 kilometers. All this leaves a car with a clear use in the city on a theoretical and preliminary role, fighting face to face with rivals such as the Smart #1, Peugeot ë-2008, Opel Mokka-e or MG ZS EV.

At the moment, Volvo has not confirmed a presentation date, but it will be in 2023 when we get to know the new EX30 for the first time and you can start placing orders. This will surely mean that the new Swedish electric SUV will be rolling on our roads by the end of next year or the beginning of 2024.
