With a 2022 that he is about to say goodbye definitively, the truth is that 2023 will arrive loaded with novelties within the automotive industry. If we take into account the trajectory of the majority of car manufacturers, it is logical to think of a 2023 in which the electric car will be the main protagonist, but there is still room for more well-known and popular formulas today, such as the hybrid car. In this section, Toyota continues to have a lot to say, and in 2023 we will see what is undoubtedly one of those cars that is worth waiting for, the Toyota Corolla Cross.

The Toyota Corolla Cross is one of Toyota’s big bets for 2023, with a series of “ingredients” that undoubtedly point directly to the “hit” of sales: SUV, hybrid, compact and with a large trunk. It sounds more than good, and at Toyota they know it. This new Toyota model will enter the “heart” of the rangepositioning itself one step above the Toyota C-HR and a little below the Toyota RAV4, both well-known models and with great popularity and a good level of sales.

Secondly, the Corolla Cross will allow Toyota to offer a more “rational” profile, more practical (special mention to its trunk of almost 450 liters) and more familiar than what is currently offered with the Toyota C-HR at a more affordable price that the Japanese manufacturer is asking for the Toyota RAV4. And speaking of prices, can we estimate the starting price of the Toyota Corolla Cross when it reaches our market? What is the budget that we have to prepare if we want to get one?

What will be the price of the Toyota Corolla Cross?

The first thing we have to be clear about is that the Toyota Corolla Cross is, technically, a Toyota Corolla “in family SUV format.” It shares with the latter the chassis and the platform, as well as the powertrains. There will be two options available, a 140 hp 1.8 block and a 192 hp 2.0 engine, both non-plug-in hybrids, with an ECO label and front or all-wheel drive.

In Spain, the Toyota C-HR starts at €28,600, while the Toyota RAV4 has a starting price of €39,000. The Toyota Highlander is much more expensive, but it also has a much more upscale approach, aimed at a more premium audience looking for a more refined and capable product. Taking both prices as a reference, we find an average price of around €33,000, which could be an ideal starting point for the Toyota Corolla Cross.

In other neighboring countries, such as Portugal, we find a C-HR that starts at €32,550 and a Toyota RAV4 that starts at €46,400. In the neighboring country, the Corolla Cross is already being sold, with a starting price of €38,190. In Italy, for example, the Toyota C-HR starts at €27,650 and the Toyota RAV4 at €35,250, while the Corolla Cross starts at €34,000.

As we see, andn all cases we find an intermediate price between the C-HR and the RAV4, so it is logical to think of a price range that ranges between €33,000 and €35,000 for Spain.

What hybrid SUV can you buy?

If you do not want to wait for the Toyota Corolla Cross you can get any of the Toyota models mentioned above or, why not, look “outside”. One of the brands that is best standing up to Toyota’s hybrid models is Renault, with models such as the Renault Arkana, a coupe SUV It is currently priced at €27,100a very competitive price for an SUV with a large trunk.
