Megazilla, the monstrous 7.3-liter V8 and 615 hp with which Ford laughs at electrification

Lovers of downsizing and electrification, the latest engine that Ford has just created may not like you too much. Under the imposing name of Megazilla, Ford Performance has just presented a new evolution of the naturally aspirated 7.3 V8 nicknamed Godzilla.. This 8-cylinder mechanics and yankee spirit to the max, is the holy grail of Ford fans to undertake preparations of all kinds and conditionsWell, we are facing the monstrous engine that will give life to dragster cars, huge pick-ups and the wildest Muscle Car we have ever seen.

The aftermarket market in the United States is a true paradise when looking for components to improve any car, which is why car manufacturers offer catalogs full of parts, where it is also possible to find complete engines such as the so-called “crate engine”. This type of engine is not always installed in series production cars, as is the case with the Megazilla that concerns us today, thus seeking to be the perfect replacement for “stock” engines.

It was in 2019 when Ford presented us with the 450 hp V8 Godzilla in its Performance Parts catalogue, an engine that was also designed to be installed in cars such as the Mustang or the F-150. Well, now Ford Performance has decided to go one step further, evolving this mechanic to create the new V8 Megazilla (code M-6007-MZ73). We are talking about a true monster, well This 8-cylinder V-shaped engine, with a displacement of 7.3 liters and atmospheric aspiration, is capable of developing 615 HP and 867 Nm…and that’s only in its most basic configuration.

Therefore, these figures are only the first step, since Ford Performance has raised the Megazilla to serve as the basis for all kinds of preparations, something that would be as simple as attaching a volumetric compress of those that are so popular in those parts. Thus, the new V8 Megazilla can easily support powers well above 1,000 hp, also having reinforced components such as pistons, crankshaft, engine block, etc. to withstand the efforts that this increase in power would entail.

This V8 Megazilla will be able to support preparations that take it well above 1,000 CV

So if the 710 CV of your Ford F-150 Raptor R or the 771 CV of your Shelby GT500 seems scarce to you, it is already taking time to get hold of the new V8 Megazilla and start to get power out of it.
