The AC Cobra will be reborn in 2023 as a GT

This has been confirmed by the brand, which has also taken advantage of it to launch a first preview in which it slightly shows its design. The new AC Cobra will be a combination of speed, agility, balance, comfort and practicality… like a good GT.

Talking about the AC Cobra is talking about one of the most legendary models. AC Cars is coming to the end of a development that has been underway for three years. An extensive process that has focused on the development of a new architecture and the creation of an unprecedented extruded aluminum tubular chassis made to measure. It was designed in Italy by Icona Design Group and Cecomp Spa and promises remarkable torsional rigidity as well as greater driving refinement in keeping with its new Gran Turismo conception.

The AC Cobra GT is the largest AC Cobra to date: It measures 4,318 meters long (35.56 centimeters more) and has a wheelbase of 2,570 meters (27.94 centimeters more). Its weight will be about 1,400 kilos.

In the images released by AC Cars, only the silhouette and some details are intuited, since they show the AC Cobra GT in twilight. Despite this, it is possible to recognize that maintains both its general features and those specific characteristics They have been around since the 1960s. Of course, they have not ignored the passage of time and have added some modern touches to be able to stand up to their rivals.

The AC Cobra GT, the company explains, will not sacrifice current comforts and will include air conditioning, electric windows, infotainment system and the option to equip it with a removable hardtop.

Powered by a V8

Although details are scarce, AC Cars does reveal that the AC Cobra GT will be equipped with a V8 that will develop 663 CV and will have a maximum torque of 780 Nm. Your dance partner will be a six-speed manual gearbox or a ten-speed automatic. With these features, the brand ensures that it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.6 seconds… almost as fast as a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS (3.4 seconds).

The AC Cobra GT will be officially presented in the spring of 2023, It can be customized according to the tastes of its future owners and the production will be limited. Of course, prices and availability have not been confirmed.
