These figures, however, are not enough for some people like the ‘youtuber’ Emelia Hartford. The opportunity to squeeze more power out of his Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was too tempting to ignore.

The conversion
The key to transformation revolves around the two Precision 6266 turbochargers. To speed up the process, the ‘youtuber’ salvaged parts of the kit she installed on the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray – many of the mounting points are identical on the two vehicles, making installation (surprisingly) quick and easy. . Of course, aesthetically the installation is not too fine: the twin-turbo system appears ‘hanging’ from the rear and the Z06 has had to say goodbye to its characteristic quadruple exhausts with central exit. They have been replaced by some sides.
Emelia Hartford has explained that the transformation is not over. Still. You have to check points like the force of the engine connecting rods and the turbo wastegate, which on the C8 Stingray ran at 9 psi – in the early stages of the Z06 conversion you have to reduce that figure to 1.5 or 3 psi. Added to this are several upgrades and additional parts (such as upgraded axles and a methanol injection system to make up for the lack of an intercooler) to keep it running reliably.
When everything is tight, getting behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 should be a wild ride. Before this moment arrives, the ‘youtuber’ has published a video (the one that accompanies these lines) to show how it starts up for the first time: the sound is wonderful. The high-pitched squeal typical of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 remains, but is now accompanied by the hiss created by the moving turbos. Hartford even steps on the accelerator to raise the revs and turn the car, for a moment, into a complete spaceship.
