In Diariomotor we not only talk about cars, we also talk about motorcycles. And if we talk about those motorcycles that we can drive with a B car license – that is, the motorcycles up to 15 CV and 125 cubic centimeters of displacement – there is a motorcycle that we would opt for without a doubt in the segment of urban scooters. This bike is not only ridiculously efficientIt is also practical, it is very comfortable, it is manufactured by a brand with a proven reputation and it is the queen of value for money. And it can be yours for only 3,250 euros.

It’s about the Honda PCX 125, a mid-range city scooter manufactured and sold by Honda. It is a two-seater scooter with a high wheel, ideal for moving around the city, thanks to a seat height from the ground of only 764 mm. Its four-stroke engine is a liquid-cooled single-cylinder, with four valves and electronic injection. It develops 12.5 CV and is a real lighter, approving an average consumption of only 2.1 l/100 km without the Stop&Start system. Like other scooters, it puts its power to the ground via a continuous variator, with a belt and a dry centrifugal clutch.

It weighs 130 kilos, and therefore, it is very easy to maneuver with it while standing.

Although I have not been able to test the current version, the consumption of the less refined and older 2015 model was absolutely ridiculous in an urban cycle – the actual consumption came to less than 2 l/100 km. It is a motorcycle with a good chassis, with a 220 mm front brake disc, accompanied by a drum on the rear axle. For urban use it is more than enough, knowing that stock account with ABS. Its front fork is 31 mm in diameter and the rear axle has a double shock absorber.

The HSTC torque control system ensures that we do not lose traction on slippery surfaces. It is a practical motorcycle, since under the seat we have a space of 30 liters where a full-face helmet fits and a jet helmet. In this same box we have a USB type C socket to charge a mobile device while we move on the scooter. The instrument panel is digital and has all the necessary information on its on-board computer. The main headlight is LED and illuminates the road really well.

It is one of the best motorcycles on the market in terms of value for money.

Its cash price is 3,250 euros. It is a bestseller and the reasons are amply demonstrated. However, the Honda SH125i, without leaving the brand, can be had for less than 3,000 euros, and cheap alternatives such as the Peugeot Tweet 125 can be bought for just over 2,300 euros.
