On video: a fantastic review of the Cizeta-Moroder V16T… from 1989!

Get ready for a vein dose of nostalgia. On July 7, Claudio Zampolli, the creator – along with Giorgio Moroder – of the Cizeta-Moroder V16T, passed away. Designed by Marcello Gandini, it was the supercar that the Lamborghini Diablo couldn’t be because of budget constraints imposed by Chrysler. It was excessive even for the time: It had four retractable headlights and its engine was a V16 located in a central-transversal position. A unique machine well deserved a very special review, recorded in 1989 by an Australian TV show.

The review is clearly from another era. It almost seems like another world, even though barely 30 years separate us from this video recorded on magnetic tape. It is striking that even in a time plagued with excesses – the eighties were ending – the Cizeta-Moroder V16T already stood out greatly, especially if we compared its design and performance with the average level of cars that could be seen on Italian streets.

Moroder even composed the promotional music for the launch of the vehicle, which you can hear in the video.

It also draws attention relatively traditional production, without great technical means, but with the best experts in the supercar region – it could not have come from another place in the world than Modena.
