The Chinese manufacturer DFSK is one of the most unknown in our country, mainly due to its youth: born in 2003, the Asian brand has barely been distributing some of its products in Spain for a handful of years. Now the brand announces the arrival of a new model in Spain with which it reinforces its presence in one of the most disputed segments: the C-SUV.. with the new DFSK 500 The Chinese brand wants to reach the public that is looking for an attractive SUV, pleasant to drive and with the most reasonable price possible.

In a market in which the €20,000 barrier seems to have already been overcome by the vast majority of both segment B and segment C models, The truth is that finding models with a certain appeal whose starting price does not exceed the mentioned figure in excess already seems almost an impossible mission. However, that amount is still the budget of a good part of the potential buyers of new cars, so attacking that price range is undoubtedly a very smart move for all those brands that can afford it, among which DFSK seems to be.

And it is that the new DFSK 500a model that has already existed for some time in other markets, it seems that will place its starting price in the environment of €22-23,000which places it as one of the cheapest SUVs on the market, especially in relation to its dimensions, which we are going to talk about below.

The DFSK 500 is an SUV of almost 4.4 meters that seeks to be cheap

With a length of 4.38 meters, the DFSK 500 fully enters the field of models such as the SEAT Ateca, with which it shares length (it also measures 4.38 meters) or the Skoda Karoq, which measures 4.39 meters. It is also somewhat longer than economical models (with which you will surely have to measure yourself) such as the MG ZS or the Dacia Duster, both very popular SUVs in our market.

Its design, a priori, shows pleasant lines and without stridency, in line with the design language of other models of the Asian firm. Elements such as the large front grill or the possibility of having a two-tone paint for the body stand out. As usual, there is no shortage of “adventurous” details such as dark-colored wheels or plastic protections for the perimeter of the wheel arches and underbody.

Inside the atmosphere is pleasant, visually correct, although we should not expect a quality of realization at a high level, something that, on the other hand, is within what is expected if we take into account the category in which the DFSK 500 militates. The automatic transmission, the climate control, the infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, the synthetic leather upholstery or Auto-folding rearview mirrors are standard. It will hit the market with two finishes to choose from: Luxury and Intelligent.

On a mechanical level, the DFSK 500 will be available with a single engine block with 1,498 cubic centimeters of displacement and 114 HP of power that, yes, it will be possible to choose with a gasoline feeding system (label C) or with LPG, in which case we will also obtain the advantage of the DGT ECO label.
