If you are looking for a (complete) hybrid car, of course new, you will quickly realize that our budget must be at least over €20,000. From then on, we began to find small, urban, hybrid and, of course, utilitarian vehicles with an ECO label, which are in the range of €20,000 and €25,000.
As we will see below that should be the positioning of the cheap hybrid and anti-SUV that we consider will sweep in 2023 and, without a doubt, the reason why we believe it will be one of the great releases of this year. Dacia has proposed to take advantage of Renault’s hybrid technology to launch a product that, to date, and by its proposal, is unique in the market. A product of which little by little we are learning new details.
A hybrid minivan, with a huge trunk of 708 liters and a configuration of 5 and 7 seats. But what will its price be?
Dacia will launch its first hybrid this year, the Jogger Hybrid 140, and it will become the most spacious economic hybrid car on the market and the only one at its price with 7 seats
Cheap hybrid and the big launch of 2023
Dacia has already confirmed some of the most important details of its first hybrid launch, the Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140, the hybrid version of a minivan that is available from €17,000, with a trunk of up to 708 liters, and in configurations of 5 and 7 seats.
Mechanically, the Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140 will enjoy the technology of its Renault hybrid brothers. Which means combining a 90-hp 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a 50-hp electric motor to reach a maximum combined power of 140 hp. Dacia hopes that it will be able to travel 900 kilometers with a full tank of gasoline. The 1.2 kWh battery will be guaranteed for 8 years, or 160,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
Dacia’s estimates also point out that its efficiency will be 40% higher on urban routes than that of a tourism with an internal combustion engine without hybridization.
How much will this hybrid cost?
With a starting price of €17,000 it is clear that the Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140 will not only be a hybrid with a unique proposition, but also one of the cheapest hybrids on the market. Dacia has not yet announced the Jogger Hybrid 140 range in Spain or when its launch will take placebut according to the markets in which it is already being introduced we can get an idea and estimate its price.
In France, a starting price of €24,600 has already been announced and that it will not be available with the Essential access line, but will start with the Expression line, with a price premium compared to the TCE 110 and the ECO-G 100 of €5,000. In the United Kingdom it will start at 22,595 pounds, with a premium of 4,150 pounds compared to the TCE 110.
Currently, the Dacia Jogger is available with the Expression line from €19,550, regardless of whether we choose the 110 CV TCE engine or the 100 CV ECO-G (a bifuel that runs on LPG and has an ECO label). This version already includes a rear parking sensor, an entertainment system with an 8″ touch screen, electric rear windows and modular roof bars as standard.
Based on these prices in Europe, the Dacia Jogger should be located in Spain in the environment of €24,000 and €25,000. A price similar to that of Toyota Corolla (available from €24,650) or the one of the Hybrid Renault Captur with which it shares technology (from €24,789)two cars that, in any case, are smaller, and less spacious, than the Jogger.
And in the meantime what car can we buy?
As we told you, the Dacia Jogger is available from €16,939 And if among our needs is to buy a car that has an ECO label, it is important to remember that the Dacia Jogger has an ECO label from its most economical version, equipped with a bi-fuel engine, capable of running on gasoline and LPG interchangeably.
If what we are looking for is a spacious and practical family vehicle, with a very tight budget, it is important to remember that the Jogger’s predecessor, the Dacia Lodgy, is available second-hand from €11,000 and that there are also units that were already equipped with LPG engines and that therefore have an ECO label, as we can see in the catalog of What car should I buy?
