You too will wish you had this Nissan Z inspired by the Mazda RX-7 from the best Fast and Furious movie

The spotlights of the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show have not only focused on product innovations, there has also been time for ‘after market’ creations. Almost twenty years after its premiere, VeilSide has recovered the Mazda RX-7 from ‘Fast and Furious: Tokyo Race’ and has made it the muse of his latest creation: a Nissan Z, which could well be part of the private parking lot of ‘Full throttle’.

For many, the third installment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ saga is the best movie of all. In it we met They have, one of the franchise’s most beloved characters. Played by actor Sung Kang, on the big screen he has driven almost a dozen different cars: the most special of all has undoubtedly been the Mazda RX-7 orange and black from Tokyo Race.

If we had to choose the best models in the entire saga, it would accompany Brian O’Connor’s Toyota Supra and Nissan Skyline GT-R and, also, Toretto’s Dodge Charger. So much so that, when he returned in the novel film, he did so aboard an orange and black Toyota GR Supra that paid homage to the Mazda from the third. Now a Nissan Z is in charge of picking up the baton and the photographer Larry Chen has had the opportunity to see it in first person to be able to show it in the video that accompanies these lines.

all a tribute

VeilSide has completely transformed the look of the Nissan Z to make it a suitable vehicle for Han. The starting point is a body kit to widen the sporty Coupé and fulfill a double objective: gain more aggressiveness and give shelter to some wheels a little bigger. Beneath the rectangular grille of the angular front there is a curved splitter, which matches the front air inlets: an area slightly reminiscent of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

On the way behind we came across some 20 inch wheels, which are inspired by the ones on Han’s Mazda RX-7. The skirts and roof sport the same gloss black as the hood and lower part of the rear. At the rear, however, the focus is on the ‘ducktail’ style spoiler with which VeilSide recalls its time in drag racing.

Inside, VeilSide has worked together with Bride to shape the carbon fiber sports bucket seats, with which they have equipped this version of the Nissan Z: like the door panels and part of the dashboard, they are covered with a custom fabric and pattern. And in case anyone wonders: yes, they have included a bottle of nitrous oxide (NOS).

In the next movie?

They have not ruled, yes, on the 3.0-liter biturbo V6 that gives life to the Nissan Z: rumors assume that it would have a reprogramming, a new exhaust and some extras to exceed the 405 that the original model delivers. They are not the only gossip that the creation of VeilSide has starred in Japan: when they asked their head of international sales about the possibility of seeing him in the next ‘Fast and Furious’ movie, he did not want to pronounce. Will we see Han aboard a Nissan Z in the latest installment of the saga?
