This is what happens when you do not change the oil in your SEAT León in more than 95,000 km

Oil is the most important fluid in a vehicle. It is the blood of the engine, and it is the element that ensures that the friction between the internal components of the engine is minimal. Each manufacturer recommends intervals for changing oil and oil filter, but in most cases it is a better idea to anticipate these intervals. And of course, it’s a terrible idea to ignore all vehicle warnings and do not change the oil in 96,560 kilometers. Then what happened to the owner of this SEAT León happens.

Equipped with a 1.8 TSI engine, entered the workshop with a notice of engine failure. The failure turned out to be a faulty actuator of the variable valve lift system. But the mechanic who diagnosed the fault soon found out the cause of it: the engine oil had not been changed in almost 100,000 km. In the video that she recorded for the YouTube channel “Just Rolled In”-specialized in mechanical breakdowns caused mainly by car owners-she shows the state of the oil after not having been changed in years. The state of him is repulsive.

It is advisable to advance the oil change intervals.

The oil has ceased to be fluid, to become a viscous mass, black as oil. Sticky, smelly and downright gross. The entire interior of the engine is covered with this mass, and to empty it, it has been necessary to directly remove the crankcase from the vehicle. This paste may have caused irreversible damage in the engine, and at the very least, the owner of the SEAT León will have to face a thorough internal cleaning of the engine with specialized products – and possibly, the replacement of parts such as the oil pump.

Needless to say: don’t make this mistake.
